Bio
Cobb, left, wearing his 2013 championship jersey
Aaron Cobb spent 2006 in Baghdad with the 158 but was not an original member of the OklahomIraqis League. He joined the league in 2007 but failed to make the playoffs until 2011. He won his first playoff game in 2012 but followed it up with a heartbreaking loss to the Arrogant Americans, who beat Cobb by .3. Cobb finished in third place that year and vowed revenge. And Cobb got his revenge in 2013. He beat the Arrogant Americans by .5 in their regular season matchup and then by 12 points in the OIL Bowl, where Cobb won his first OIL championship. His run to a championship was even more impressive considering he did it despite losing his number one pick (Arian Foster), as well as starters Jermichael Finley and Wes Welker, to injury.
Cobb's claim to fame used to be that he was working security for the "Straight Dave's Fight Night" scene in the Oscar-nominated film "Bruno." But now he can say he is an OklahomIraqis League champion.
Cobb lives in his hometown of Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he graduated from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. He is an MMA fighter and fight promoter when he is not at his 9 to 5. His team logo is inspired by the "hellhound" of Greek and Roman mythology: Cerberus.
